LI: To give facts about Serena or Venus Williams.
For this task, we had to watch either a YouTube video about Serena Williams or Venus Williams or both and write down 3 facts about one or both of them on our blog. We also had to write down a fact we would STILL want to know. I chose to give facts about Venus Williams. I decided to write more since there were a lot of interesting facts I wanted to share.
Venus Williams
Venus Williams started tennis training at the age of three. In 1999 she won her first major championship for tennis and completed her career Grand Slam in 2003. Venus has won over 49 single titles over her career. Her parents are Richard and Oracene Williams. Thanks to her dad, she has grown fond of tennis. Venus won both Wimbledon and The U.S Open in 2000. She won a lot of gold medals in the Olympics for singles and doubles tennis.

ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! Did you see the yellow coloured sky in the weekend? It really made me think about the people struggling in Australia because apparently the colour of the sky was yellow due to the bushfires in Australia. Anyways I hope it is sunny wherever you are!
I thought that your facts about Venus Williams were really great! I had no idea that she won Wimbledon and the U.S Open. I had always thought that Serena was the only sister that won the big competitions so thank you for teaching me something new about the Williams sisters. What fact do you think you would like to know about them? I’m interested in finding out who was the better player growing up! By adding some bright colours or a few pictures to your blog post I think it would really catch people’s attention.

They are such strong, empowering individuals and a great example of how you can succeed through determination and hard work!
