Writing | Homophones | Sentences | Simple, Compound, Complex

LI: to show an increasing knowledge of how a range of text conventions can be used appropriately.

This week we learnt about Homophones and Homonyms. We also talked about the differences of Simple, Compound and Complex sentences and what they include inside them. First we had to create 1 simple, compound and complex sentence about the same thing. An example of the first sentence we had to make is at the top highlighted in blue, in the middle, and at the bottom which is the first Complex sentence. Next we had to get feedback on our first sentence and write 2 more of each sentence linking to the same information. We had to use Homophones in our sentences then get more feedback on our work.

Homophones
A homophone is a word that sounds the same but have different definitions and meanings to eachother. A few examples: ad/add, their/there, sweet/suite.

Homonyms
Homonyms are words that look the same and sound the same but mean differently. Like homophones, they have different meanings in them.
