Writing | Similes

Similes are a comparison of two things using "like" or "as ... as". Similes are figurative language.

For similes that use "like", use verbs. For example: 'Soar like an eagle' and 'act like an animal'.

For similes that use "as", use adjectives. For example: 'As blind as a bat' and 'as flat as a pancake'.

Similes add more detail by reiterating a comparison.

LI: to describe things by similes.
