Kiwi Can

LI: To learn about respecting and following rules ins school and everywhere else.

This week for kiwi Can Ls1 group A learned about following rules and what rules we must follow. We also learned about what kind of rules we break and if those rules make us happy or if we agree with the rules made.

Today we played Centre ball and Bus stop. To play Bus Stop, there are groups and in those groups you have a piece of paper and a pen. You have the categories: Boy Name, Girl Name, Food,Animal and Colour on your piece of paper and an extra column to count your score. The caller has to call out a letter and you have to write down names, food, animals and a colour starting with that letter. For example if the letter is N, Boy name:Nick, Girl Name:Nicole, Food:Nectarine, Animal: Narwhal, Colour:Navy blue. If groups have the same word then they get 5 points and write it down in the total column. If groups have their own word they get ten points.

LI: Post a positive comment on a students blog post.

This week I commented on Andrew's blogpost because he has posted many blog posts and I have read his blogpost about World war 1 Inquiry and think he's improved a lot since term 3 but he has done a few mistakes in this blog post. To see his blog click this link: Andrews Blog

This week for daily 6 activity 1 I completed my keyboarding must do today and improved alot. I positively understand how and where to put my hands.

SkyTower Writing

LI: Write a full recount about our trip to the sky tower and fix any mistakes using suggestion mode.

This week for Writing I wrote the recount about when LS1 had a trip to the Auckland City Sky tower to learn about its structural details. All of Mr Wong's groups had to write a recount and after writing a full recount about it we had to score ourselves out of 1 to either 5,6 or 7 in structure, punctuation and vocabulary.

We showed our work to Mr Wong and he scored us out of the total. We then had to go back and suggest and fix our own mistakes as the last task for writing.

Maths Measurement and Converting

LI: Create a DLO to talk about the subject chosen and make an activity the reader can intervene with.

This week for My Maths group I made a DLO slide presentation on Measurement and Converting because I have needed to understand mre about measuring Litres so I chose this Option.

Today I finished my presentation and I talked about converting distance measurement as the activity that the reader could intervene and answer with.

We had to be able to present as much as we could when talking about our chosen subject.

Inquiry | World War 1

LI: To explain information about the world war 1 vocabulary and timeline toward war.

This week for inquiry my partner and I worked on a DLO about the world war one reputations/beliefs. For our vocabulary slide we had to look up and learn about 7 different world war 1 groups and write down information and insert photos.

For our 'Marching toward war' Vocabulary we had 8 options and 8 boxes placed on the arrow next to the coloured boxes with information in them. We had to search on the given link and had to match the years that move onto world war 1.

Example:
2016: [Birthday of queen Elizabeth]

2017: [End of 2016]

Maori

LI: Learn about the first ever maori person to walk the earth and other maori histories

Today for our Maori Session whaea ode read the beginning story to us again and then watched a video made of sand art describing the story 'in the beginning'

Link to the sand art video: Sand art

Kupe was the first maori man ever to walk on earth and his wife (Made from Tane/god of nature and his wife) set sale after a migration of birds flew past, he was determined to find out if there was other islands and land on earth.

Kiwi Can

LI: Learn to follow rules and be respectful to everything.

Today for Kiwi Can Mr Matt and Ms Paige/Page taught us why we need to follow rules and that following rules means being respectful to everything around you and to the people that made those rules.

Rules vs No rules as the energiser and Role play as the activity. To play Rules vs No rules we had to play tag and first we didn't need to follow rules so everybody was the tagger and we didn't have anything to follow.

Then we played tag with rules and there were 2 taggers and we had to stay silent, round 2 of tag (Following Rules) we had to walk in slow-motion,

Then for the activity we played role play and to play we had to go into groups and role play the scenario of 2 new kids and them not having any food to eat for the shared lunch and we have the option of sharing with them/being respectful or to not share.

My group role played the scene of being respectful and succeeded in the act of respect or no respect.

Co-Co Crunch Cereal Website

LI: Is to complete Coco' crunch's website maker and make a DLO talking about the gimmicks/tricks used in the ad's and websites.

Today for Cybersmart we learned about Co-Co crunch's website and needed to fill out the types of gimmicks we wanted to provide for their website.

I designed a fairy-tale related coco crunch ad using the options given to me.I made a DLO including the meanings and good gimmicks to use in advertisements, websites and more.

Conflict and Resolution

LI: Read the story sparks and fill in the shapes with information.

This week for reading we had to fill in the conflict and resolution DLO after reading the story Sparks. Our Information needed to include the characters and what side they were on, The conflict/Argument in the story, and the actions or events that happened to lead to the resolution. (The end of the argument/conflict.)

Sparks is about Dillon's new scooter, that shoots sparks out when you ride it. Dillon Doesn't want Harley to use his new scooter so that causes Mum and Dad to start an argument.

Mum takes sides with Harley and Mum gets angry at Dillon. Dad takes sides with Dillon and tells them that Dillon doesn't have to share yet, because he just got his present.

After Dad makes Dillon share with Harley, Dillon gets mad and sad at the same time.

We needed to focus on filling this Document out by today and I came up with similar answers to the teacher of my reading group.

The goal today was to write the information needed in the correct shapes before lunch.
I've also completed a General knowledge reading activity to go with my Sparks conflict and resolution.
