Daily Six multiplication

LI: To practice our multiplication and division maths equations.
Today I did my 2,4,8 and 11 times tables from 1-10.I found all of the times tables really easy.
I think I can improve on my 6 times tables and next time I could do my 8 and 9 times tables.

This week This daily 6 activity helped me alot on my times tables and multiplication strategies.

Dance Mat typing


LI: Is to use this app to learn how to type differently.
This week I Used an app called dance mat typing. This app helps people to type differently. This taught me a new way to write and type words down easily.

This app also teaches other people on how to type quicker and shows them timing skills and how to understand where to type and put your fingers without needing to look at the keyboard.

I think I need to improve on this app is that I need to learn to type quicker and put my fingers in the right place as well as spelling properly when im typing to fast.

I also think that there is another reason I play this is and it is that it has great information and entertainment, instead of bored random words to type.

This game has helped lots of people in my classroom to improve on their typing skills and think this is a good way to learn typing resources and skills.

Perimeter and Area

LI: This week we learned about area and perimeter. I learned this week about area and perimeter for shapes.Perimeter means the quickest way to get from the start of the shape to the end.Area Means the measurement of a shape by multiplying the length and width of a shape. The area and perimeter are based on the shape look,form and measurement.

Persuasive Writing

LI: Is to learn about persuasive writing structure (OREO) and the language features. This week I learned about the persuasive writing structure and the language features. I highlighted the infinitive tense words in yellow,the emotive words/devices in red and cause and effect words in blue. Cause means what made something or what caused something and effect is what it does to somebody or makes somebody feel.

Lac Long Quan

LI:Is to blog about another fairytale/myth/legend and write about what it teaches us and other information. This week I learned about the myth/legend/fairytale of Lac Long quan and Au Co. This is an interesting story because Au Co is a mountain fairy and Lac long quan is a dragon.I didn't think it was a good mixture until I found out that they make an amazing team and they share half of their sons.

Inquiry


LI: Today we needed to blog about our 2nd presentation about fortified structures and war advantages with ancient technology.
This week I learned about escalating technology and what advantages it would give in war. I think I can improve on my stance and audibility. I also Think I should work on giving my other group members a chance at giving information in the presentation.

I think I gave information loud and clear but I still need to talk about specific information.

Swimming

Today I learned how to do the water train inside the pool and the egg batter kick. The year 4's also learned how to use sculling in the pool.

This week for swimming I also learned about how to put a life jacket on in the water.

KIWI CAN


 LI:To learn bout problem solving. This week for kiwi can we were learning about problem solving and what we can do to show confidence when we solve problems. We played games to teach us about confidence,resilience,bouncing back and problem solving. Our kiwi can lesson taught us about what stops us and what can stop us when we try to solve problems which are shyness and being afraid. Sometimes we might be scared to ask the teacher or a trustworthy friend for help but you might be afraid because someone might make fun of how you dont know something.

Auckland City Scape Art Week

LI: Our Learning intention today was to make a city scrape sunset or sunrise picture. 

Today was an amazing art day because we created city silhouettes in sunrise and/or sunset out of simple coloured paper.We could  pick any city from around the world we knew about and wanted to draw on a DLO/ Google Draw. 

This week for art we had to pick a picture of a a sunset or sunrise that had shapes in them.Then we had to put the colour of the shapes and the shape in our picture, if it was either clouds or water or many things other that clouds and water. But we had to make it look realistic.

I chose the Auckland city to make into a silhouette. I used a memory of a sunset from when I was young. I put the sunset onto my art picture and stuck on my silhouette of the Auckland city.

This art was an individual activity and lesson, which helps us because LS1 needs to work on creating, creative art pieces without copying or annoying any other person in our class. 

We learned about HOT and COLD colours as well. HOT colours are very bright colours and show warmth when we look at them. COLD colours are dark looking colours and they look like they dont have any happiness or bright colours in them.

 An example of COOl or COLD colours are Dark blue,Black and shades of dark colours that express feelings like anger or sadness. 

An Example of HOT or WARM colours are Red,Orange, Lime green, Light blue and Yellow. HOT colours look bright and look light something amazing is going to happen and as lots of hopeful colours in them, that give a warm feeling. HOT colours express happiness and joy as well as wonder and hope. HOT colours bring out the joy in people.

Procedural Writing

Procedure Writing

LI:Is to write a procedure on making a 3D shape.
This week for reading I learned about how to make a specific word procedure that my teacher had to specifically follow. I made A procedure on how to make a 3D triangular Prism. A procedure needs a Title,End result,Materials and Steps and Picture. Structure: TEMPS. We used a planner to help plan our procedure.

Inquiry

LI: Is to write about war defence structures that were made of dirt. Example:Hill fort, Trench or Rampart. I blogposted about a Hill fort with my group. We needed the history of our Hill fort and a certain slide/Part in our DLO that shows about what we actually learned while playing a game.

Swimming Session

LI: Is to blog post about what we learned in the swimming session. This week at swimming I learned about what to do when somebody is drowning in deep water and how to help that person without getting injured or injuring myself when doing so. I also put instructions on how to yell for help properly to get the life guards attention. In this DLO i explained as much as I could remember in today's session and wrote as much as i could.

Izanami And Izanagi


LI: Is to talk and tell about the Izanami & Izanagi story for my group.
This week i learned about the story/legend/myth of Izanami and Izanagi. This is a japanese Traditional story I have learned about and have put helpful and interesting information into my DLO presentation about this Tale.

Different Angles Sheet

LI: To Write angles according to the Letters
This week for maths I learned how to tell obtuse,acute and right angels using letters. I used a sheet of paper and answered the angles using a protractor. A protractor is in the shape of a semi circle and has degree numbers i used to measure with. In maths we also had to write down a score of the EXACT answer. We worked in groups of 4 and had to have the same answers.

10 Bridges | Inquiry

LI: To Learn about structures and Bridges This week for inquiry we needed to use google maps to find and learn about 5 International bridges and 5 National bridges. We used google maps and placed marks on the map to show the bridges we learned and found around the world and in NZ.

Procedural Writing


LI: This week for writing we learned about procedural writing. We learned about the structure and the language of a procedure. I added examples into my DLO/Poster because I didn't know if everybody would Understand everything in my DLO/Poster.

How to add Fractions with different Denominators


LI: We learnt how to add fractions that have unlike denominators and making them the same.

Swimming


LI: This week for swimming we learned about what to do when we are taken in a rip during swimming in a river or beach. This lesson today was all about how to scull in Cameron's group. We sculled in head first and feet first style.

This vs That inquiry

LI: For inquiry we were comparing the differences between panmure bridge and Auckland harbour bridge. Panmure bridge and another bridge in NZ. And last panmure bridge and another bridge from around the world. we got to pick the NZ bridge and the international bridge. About The Tengu

LI: For reading I learned about the Tengu legend. We learned about the story of the Tengu and had to post on our blog about what Tengu Teaches.

Kiwi Can


LI: For Kiwi can this week today we learned about setting sensible goals to achieve. Ls1 also learnt how to plan for goals and to achieve and follow that plan. Today we were talking about what sensible goals can do to our life which are making impacts and changing our future to something better.

3D shapes


LI: For maths we made 3D shapes with partners using toothpicks and Blue tack. We learned about 3D shapes and the difference between 3D shapes and 2D shapes. The difference between a 3D shape and 2D shape is that a 2D shape is flat and doesn't have a proper shape. A 3D shape is like an item or object already in front of you. We made 6 3D shapes with our partners.One partner made 3 and the other made 3. We had 4 optional shapes to make. Me and my partner made almost all of the shapes. We didn't get enough time so we didn't do the 3D rectangle.

LI: For maths I learnt how to add fractions with different denominators. We had to explain how to show and tell it on our blog. We learnt how to animate fractions when adding with different denominators.

Kiwi Sport Swim Session

Swimming Week 2

LI: Was to learn the safe dives into the water using different style swims and dives.

This week for swimming Cameron taught his group how to safe dive into the water. We also learned how to torpedo float to the other platform in the water. A torpedo is when he hold our arms up in a triangle above our head.

We learnt how to Star fish float on our back and Dolphin dive. The starfish is to hold out our arms and legs wide out and float to the other side. We had to hold our breath under the water for 10 or more seconds.

Cameron taught us how to do the torpedo dolphin dive. We dived into the water with our arms in the shape of a torpedo and mimic the swim of a dolphin. Cameron also showed us the safe dive into the water by slowly cannon balling into the water.

We went back to school after the next group came to swim.

Kiwi Can

LI: The LI Was to learn how to communicate and help each other and to bounce back while learning from mistakes.
For Kiwi Can we learned about bouncing back and setting goals for our life. We also learned abut what good goals are and how we plan on archiving them. Resilience means bouncing back, which is when you learn from mistakes, try again and never give up. There are some things you can accomplish when you set goals and challenge yourself. Using plans to make sure you know when and what your going to do next.

We played two games that taught us Resilience and Setting goals for our self. They were called Tag snatch and ball trouble.Tag snatch taught me how to plan for my goals. Ball Trouble taught me How to bounce back when I make my mistakes.

Why we played was because those games were supposed to teach us how to learn from mistakes and to set goals I can archive in my life.

My goal: My goal is to be a part of NASA group. I want to be part of NASA because I like learning about outer space and the solar system.
