Writing | Changing Recounts

LI: to edit and improve a piece of writing

This week we were editing recounts created by other people in LS1. We had to find a partner in our writing groups and we all had to write a 40 minute recount about either kiwican, kiwisport or music that has happened any time this term. fter the 40 minutes of writing, we had to share our partner into our document and they had to make a copy. Without editing any further, they had to read the recount and decide how many exact changed that they would make to the copy. Mr O would determine if that was how many changes that you would do and/or if it was enough.

Our Main task was to edit and improve pieces of writing. We had to color-code the changes so that the reader could indicate where the changes to the recount were and exactly how many you've changes/added. Here is the link to review the changes I made to my partners recount.

After both recounts were edited then we talked about the point system. The Point System is how you keep track of how many points your partner gets for editing your recount. The Point System is to determine how many exact points your partner gets. Example: I Went on a trip to the museum. We looked at ancient warfare. The additions are: 'to the museum' and 'ancient'. 2 Changes were made so that +2 Points.

Point System:
1P: Every Made Change
1P: Every Added Adjective
1P: Every added Adverb
2P: Title changed to be more interesting
2P: Every Added Punctuation (Exclamatin, Question Mark, Ellipsis, Speech Marks)
5P: Sentence Changed using the stradegy from 3 Weeks Ago
5P: Changes to make TREE More visible

-2P: Capital Letter out of Appropriate use (Only use During Names and Places)
-10P: Only Punctuation is Full Stops and/or Commas.
-20P: Only Adjectives have been added
-20P:  Under 10 Changes and/or they didn't make sence
