LI: To use our smart searching skills to find out about pulleys.
We have been learning about simple machines. There are 6 different types of simple machines. This week we learnt about pulleys. Our DLO shows our labelled diagrams of a pulley system. A labelled diagram is an information picture. A pulley is used to transfer heavy loads easily by force by hooking one end of the rope onto load and pulling on the other.
Did you know, the more wheels with grooves there is for the rope, the less effort and more force is being used to transfer the load?
