HIIT - High Intensity Interval Training

LI: To become physically active by performing the actions to represent a Maori story.

Every Tuesday and Thursday, LS2 travels to the hall to participate in a high intensity interval training session (HIIT).

First, everyone puts their assigned heart rate monitor on and spreads out through the hall. We started off by listening to a Maori story, which was about a Maori god sending a mighty wind into rage.

The movements we did were part of a haka and we did them repeatedly for 5-7 minutes. We did 5 different movements as part of practice and exercise.

I really enjoy these HIIT sessions because they are an opportunity to be physically active as well as learn a Maori story.
