Maths | Volume & Capacity

Volume is how much space is inside an object. Capacity is how much liquid an object can hold. The standard forms of measuring capacity are: Millilitres and Litres. People often use measuring cups to measure capacity.

An estimation is an educated guess on something. Estimation is based off of prior knowledge.

When converting capacity, divide or multiply by 1000. Millilitres to litres or litres to millilitres.

    1. Kia Ora Ariana,
Thank you for the positive feedback. You can convert litres into centimeters cubed. You can convert them by knowing 1 litre is equivalent to 1000 cubic centimeters. What is the difference between milliliters and litres?

    2. Hi Bella,
Thank you for replying, and asking an interesting question. Millilitres are similar to cubic centimeters, 1 litre is equivalent to 1000 milliliters. The difference between millimeters and centimeters is a millimeter is ten times smaller than centimeters. What are cubic centimeters?

    3. Hello Ariana,
Thank you for giving an answer to my question. Cubic centimeters are units of volume, and they basically represent millimeters. Cubic centimeters can be calculated by multiplying the length, width and height all in centimeters. Thank you for comment threading with me, I have learnt a lot about the different units of measurement.
